At least 20 people have died after a fire broke out at a school in the South American country of Guyana.
The accident occurred when a fire broke out in a school dormitory in Mahdia, the capital of the country’s Potaro-Siparuni region.
President Irfan Ali termed this incident as terrible and heartbreaking.
The government has confirmed the death of 20 people in the fire in the dormitory of the secondary school in the gold mining town. Many others were injured.
The government of Guyana has informed that medical supplies will be sent to the city by five planes.
