Egypt’s seven hundred and fifty year-old mosque reopens

The North African country of Egypt has restarted a 755- time-old major synagogue . The name of the synagogue is Al- Zahir Baibars Mosque. The synagogue , erected in the 13th century, was opened on Monday after a long addition. In the history, this synagogue was occasionally used as a cleaner plant and occasionally as a stronghold. The news agency Reuters reported this information in a report on Tuesday.

According to the report, a major thirteenth- century synagogue was restarted in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, on Monday. This major synagogue was used as a cleaner plant, bloodbath house and stronghold over the times. still, it was restarted on Monday after lengthy emendations.

erected in 1268 under Mamluk rule, the synagogue spans three acres just north of central Cairo, Reuters said. It’s the third largest synagogue in Egypt.

Tarek Mohammad Al- Behari supervised the addition of the synagogue . He participated his experience of addition work with Reuters.

Tarek Mohammad Al- Behari said,” We’ve taken a lot of trouble to restore the synagogue to its former state.” piecemeal from carrying out mechanical addition, chemical addition conditioning have also been carried out. Being a veritably old structure, some corridor of the synagogue have formerly been destroyed. This time we were forced to demolish some corridor while revamping. Because those corridor are structurally infelicitous as part of a synagogue . We’ve made no negotiations in working with the archetypal style. We were veritably interested in restoring the synagogue to its original state.’

According to Reuters,7.6 million 80 thousand US bones have been spent on the addition of this major synagogue . This reform process started in 2007. The Central Asian country of Kazakhstan has helped Egypt in its reform process.

The news agency says the synagogue has been religiously active since its construction. But the synagogue was closed 225 times agone . At that time it was abandoned or being run for marketable purposes. And as a result, this literal synagogue is gradationally lost from the runners of time.

According to literal data, this synagogue was used as a military fort during Napoleon’s crusade in Egypt. It was also used as a cleaner plant under Ottoman rule in the 19th century. latterly, when the British raided Egypt in 1882, substantiation of its use as a slaughterhouse was set up.

Mamluk rule gauged three centuries in Egypt from 1250 to 1517. A prominent figure of this dynasty was Al- Zahir Baibars. One of his achievements was the connection of Mamluk rule on Egyptian soil.
