A new incident of violence has passed in Manipur, a northeastern state of India that has been devastated by ethnical violence. Last Saturday night, at least 40 people were killed in clashes between secessionists and security forces in several areas of the state. State Chief Minister N Biren Singh verified the matter. Police disaccorded with secessionists for further than 8 hours in some areas of the state. Gunfights are still ongoing in some areas and there are reports of dead bodies lying on the thoroughfares. The principal minister said that secessionists are using M- 16, AK- 47 assault rifles and gun rifles against civilians. They burnt houses in numerous townlets. The Center has helped us in this fight against the fortified secessionists who are trying to separate Manipur. With the help of army and other security forces, we’ve started taking strict action against them. 40 secessionists were reported to have been shot dead in an late operation.
The secessionists opened fire on unarmed civilians. They launched a contemporaneous attack on Imphal Valley and its girding areas of Sekmai, Sugunu, Kumbi, Phaeng and Seru around 2 am on Saturday.
It’s stressed that the number of casualties may increase in this incident of blasting. The croakers of the Regional Institute of Medical lores( RIMS) in Imphal said that they treated 10 people who were injured in the gunfight in Phaeng area.
Apropos, there has been pressure between the ethnical nonages of the state for a month now. further than 70 people lost their lives in this ethnical conflict. 64 percent of the state’s population belongs to the Meitei community. Despite that, they enjoy only 10 percent of the total land area of the state. The state doesn’t allow anyone other than slated lines to buy land in hilly areas. lately, the High Court directed the state government to examine whether the Meitei community can be included in the list of slated lines. After that, Manipur came hot again.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah is going on a visit to Manipur moment. He prompted the Meitei and Kuki communities to maintain peace and work to restore normality. Army Chief General Manoj Pandey is also presently in Manipur to review the security situation in the state.
