Ukraine says it has liberated three townlets in the south- east of the country in the first palms of its important-awaitedcounter-offensive.
Footage on social media showed Ukrainian colors celebrating in the neighbouring agreements of Blahodatne and Neskuchne in the Donetsk region.
Kyiv’s deputy defence minister said near Makarivka was also taken.
On Saturday, President Volodymyr Zelensky verified that thecounter-offensive had begun.
These three agreements would be the first delivered since his commentary, but not the first that Ukraine has reacquired since Monday, when pockets of its forces began to advance in the country’s south.
Moscow has yet to confirm the fall of any of the townlets, rather speaking of repelling Ukrainian assaults in the region.
Away, Ukraine says Russia has blown up another levee in the Zaporizhzhia region, following the destruction of the major Nova Kakhovka on Monday, which caused wide flooding.
Ukraine says the levee was blown up by Russian forces, who have controlled it since February 2022.
Valeriy Shershen, a prophet for the Ukrainian service, said Moscow’s forces had chosen to blow up a alternate levee near the vill of Novodarivka, which” led to the flooding on both banks of the Mokri Yaly swash”.
Mr Shershen said Russia was designedly blowing up heads in the region to halt Ukraine’s advance towards enthralled areas.
Russia has denied it blew up the Nova Kakhovka levee and has criticized Ukraine rather.
